RUSTIC PLACES AND SPACES

I LOVE LOOKING TO INTERIORS FOR INSPIRATION FOR MY GRAPHICS.
(and future home of course).

This space caught my eye because of the fresh white brushed wooden floor boards. Just like in my own home, I think that anything looks beautiful when you have a white wooden floor. Hence why I photograph so many garments on my bedroom floor!

I'm not usually a fan of rustic and 'shabby chic' charm, however Illustrator Paula Mills's home is one that you notice and don't forget- there's so much to look at in every angle! Like a country side version of Aladdin's cave. It's like an object from every corner of the earth.

This is the sort of studio i'm talking about! Collage everywhere....
Lot's of eclectic random cushions, peaceful surroundings, tranquil ambiance. Ideal.

INSIDERS DRESSING ROOM: WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE

DRESSING ROOMS, BACK STAGE AND BARELY THERE PASTELS.

Doing my daily check of my favourite blogs (lists endless!) I couldn't help but stay on these images for longer than a flick through. At first, I thought wow...I wish this was my bedroom, even though the interior of my room is more Moroccan Goddess than Boudoir Beauty. But then the following images show behind the scenes of shoots, make-up and dressing rooms of the models and makers behind the brand WildFox.

The colours etch an ambiance of girlishness with a twisted edge, barely there pastel shades, and shabby chic dressers, it feels spring like, but with an icy coating.

COLOUR BLOCKING GONE MENTAL

L.A INSPIRED COLOUR BLOCKING GONE MAD BY ANDREW YEE.

This series of astonishing shots by Andrew Yee and styled by Damian Foxe, take colour blocking to another level. I'm not quite sure if any colour of the rainbow has been missed out.
What I find interesting is the simple contrast of a plain block colour mixed with a set design of palm trees and an L.A inspired skyline. The set design was created by Aaron Johnson primarily for the Financial Times insert. These shots do make me liven up a little bit, full of energy and summery promises.
The styling in these shots is rather interesting, I'm more of a 'simple is better' type of creative however Damian Foxe has gone all out in the structure, texture and pattern stakes, I'm sure I can find some outfit ideas from it. However I would never have teamed it with the creeper styled trainer; heels work better!

HOPES & UTOPIA

This season I cannot help thinking that the theme is: happiness.

After months of dreary weather, ice cold snow, no pennies after christmas spends, the trends are becoming brighter, the patterns are becoming crazier, and shops are looking fresher. So yes there is happiness and hope in the air of the upcoming months of SPRING.

I know this is quite late, considering LFW is in full swing concentrating on AW12 fancys, however I really need to express the current collections and how happy I feel when purchasing a new neon paste; chiffon crazy patterned structured shirt. (Yes, everything goes this season).

French Connection SS12 say it how it is.

Mulberry look back to our childhood memories, a walk on the beach with ice cream and rock, focusing on the pastel pretties.

Louis Vuitton again reference back to a childhood memory with their campaign video, linking to nostalgia with a merry-go-round.

Prada link to travel, holiday and escapism, a place where we are care free and happy.

River Island use the idea of holidays, summer, sun, fruit and relaxation again a happy and warm place in our hearts

Reiss link to summer sun and getaways, road trips to reference escapism and a utopian perfect world.

BEAUTY BY SOLVE SUNDSBO:

I constantly flick on Trendland.net for inspiration and ideas generation. So when I browsed todays trends I instantly attached my eyes onto this eclectic montages.

The colourful editorial shots have been carefully placed together to juxta mix model Lara Stone against florals, muscles, and natural aesthetics for the March issue of W magazine.

It carefully showcases springs latest trends. I think this is a great way of portraying trends than literally placing a model on a blank page with comments of why you should wear it and how. It shows creation; a form of art. This is hard to find sometimes within magazines as they have become rather accustomed to the ideal mainstream consumer. These mixed media  selections make you look further into the trend, and analyse them rather than just thinking, 'oh, florals are on trend this season'. Maybe this is just my view as a creative analyse student myself however i'm sure most people would rather see a colourful mix of beautiful shapes and patterns rather than the outfit given to you on a glossy editorial page.

See what you think. I think they're just plain beautiful.

Christmas has been and gone..

And February is getting along pretty fine.

I've realised I need to start posting on my journal blog, as I've become too accustomed to Tumblr and
blogging inspiring images rather than writing about them. I need to put across my opinion and taste.

So now the big February project deadline has been and gone, and the next one is not too tense at the moment I am going to dedicated myself to an online diary.
