NEWSPENDATURES:

A little post on some items i've purchased in the last few weeks. I'm refraining myself from spending too much just lately, so these posts will be very rare indeed.

The first tee may seem a crazy spend, cats + neon print + geek glasses= should never work, but it caught my eye, and can be worn as a comfy dress.

GLAMOUR KILLS. NO REGRETS. DREAM ON, DREAMER.
what a slogan to have on a label. makes me want to keep it.

EARTHYINSPIREDME:

So, this is a complete contrast to the previous post. And by contrast I mean, CONTRAST.
Forget metallic, vivid turquoise, purple hue feathers and 80's brash, earthy and neutral STYLIST Cassandra Kellogg also sets the inspiration for my personal style.

I believe that you can mix and mingle inspiration from any type of style. Gone are the days where you are a certain style (a hippy, a goth, alternative) and that is it, your branded. To be individual, fresh, and unique in 2012 you have to just wear whatever you like, how you like; whether it's on trend or not.

Your personal style also reflects the way you have your home. Stylelikeu.com promotes this, as when interviewing different creatives they photograph the unique qualities that the creative has in their home. In Cassandra's home you can certainly tell that she fills every last drop of her personal space with elements that inspire and are true to her...

As for Cassandra's personal style, I just love the pairing of dainty white dresses with boyish grunge boots.
In the interview Cassandra says

"I've always been the only girl allowed to play with the boys. I think my way of staying a girl, is dressing feminine"

ANGEL CLOUTHIER:
A DJ living in L.A who takes inspiration from 80's and 90's swimwear. Her key pieces are watercolour wrap dresses and vintage 70's wedges!

Just to look at her style you need sunglasses. But that's why I love it.

METALLICS. HIPPY TREND. TIE DYE. FESTIVAL. FEATHERS.

MOSCHINOME

Courtesy of Garage.com again I found these graphical images of the Moschino AW12 collection.

A delightful and courageous mix of bold chunks of colour, thick gold hoops, stripes and leather biker jackets. The added bow headscarves give a sense of a hybrid of different era's that could have potentially been used as reference and inspiration.

Yet, what caught my eye the most was the way in which the snapshots had been placed. In a fashion of cut and paste, graphical cut outs showing a different view of the runway.

SO MUCH BETTER THAN JUST SEEING A FULL BODY SHOT. CREATIVE.

SLICK HAN:

GARAGE MAGAZINE told me about designer Han Chong, straight out of Central Saint Martins and designing hot quirky collections at a reasonably low price tag.

The lookbook promoting Han's collection is pretty cool too. As a lover of cats, the mix of hand written catch phrases and cute felines is right up my street.

SHEER BLACK FABRIC AND CHUNKY GOLD HEADPIECES.

^^I'm taking note ready for summer^^

SOME KIND OF STYLE.

These shots have made me happy.
It takes alot for someone to pull off outfits that look as if they have been styled by some kind of escaped nun out of a compound, however i'm slowly starting to find myself relating to them.

BUTTONED UP SHIRTS
ANDROGYNY
MONOCHROME
SHEER
CROSSES
CONTRAST
DARK
SILHOUETTE

All representing words that i'd use to some up some aspects of my own personal style. I wouldn't suggest completely copying the whole look, yet taking bits and making it your own is something that can be do with this style!

COLLARED ZARA: THE TRENDS EVERYWHERE

I did a research case study today on the way people shop, and I have to admit, I ended up shopping myself. This was inevitable. However I did come across (whilst people stalking!) some neat collared shirts in Zara, Nottingham.

For ages I've been looking for collar tips to put onto the corners of the collar. In Zara, they have three very different and unique styles in at the moment, in which each will cater to everyone style preferences.

SHIRT #1: BLACK & GOLD

This particular shirt can be dressed up and down. Dressed down with block red jeans (also purchasable from Zara, OR American Apparel, OR Topshop). The gold tips make it easy to vamp up for those midnight hours.

SHIRT #2: QUIRKY LITTLE CHEETAHS

This is the shirt I clocked first. Not quite sure why, but trends come and go but I still can't help myself when it comes to animal print. (ANY animal print). Yet this shirt takes animal print to a different level, its quirky and kitsch, and the gold block chunks add the edge of sparkle.

SHIRT #3: COWBOY CUT-OUTS

The silver engraved tips remind me of the tips on cowboy boots somehow?! Very Texan. It would be too obvious to pair this top with washed out denim shorts, so I'd go for the more rock-esque look and maybe team it with some leather? The mint green works well with anything surprisingly.
